About

Traditional Hong Kong Wing Chun is taught in Pontypridd by Wales Wing Chun Kuen, part of a small group of martial arts clubs that also includes classes in Bridgend and Porthcawl. The club was first opened in South Wales in 1991 and teaches Ip Man Wing Chun, with its lineage running through the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen to Grandmaster Ip Chun. Classes are led by the head instructor and his senior students, and the schools are deliberately kept small with a family feel.

Wing Chun is a close-range style of Kung Fu known for economy of movement, centreline structure and partner drills such as sticky hands. It generally suits people looking for a traditional art with a focus on technique rather than sport competition.
