Academy Of Movement

About

Based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, Academy Of Movement is listed here under martial arts, though its classes focus on aerial skills, gymnastics and circus. Sessions cover disciplines such as aerial hoop, silks, lyra and sling, with separate classes for early years, children and adults. The academy works from its own purpose-built venue, and students have the chance to take part in presentations and theatre shows.

Alongside regular term-time classes, there are private lessons, holiday camps, workshops and parties. Movement-based training like this is generally a good way to build strength, flexibility and coordination, and many people find performing in front of an audience builds confidence too.
