Training across the Wisewood and Stannington areas of Sheffield, Yong Gi Taekwondo Club teaches the Korean martial art whose name translates as "the foot fist way". The club's own name is Korean too, meaning "courage". Members range from young children to adults, and the club treats taekwondo as a long-term path towards discipline, respect and fitness rather than self-defence alone.

A martial arts club like this is generally a good place to build coordination, flexibility and confidence at your own pace. Taekwondo in particular tends to involve learning patterns (poomse), kicks, blocks and stances, with progress usually marked through a grading system as students develop their skills over time.
