Matsuri Dojo Welwyn - Karate & Kobudo

About

Based at Panshanger Community Centre in Welwyn Garden City, Matsuri Dojo Welwyn teaches karate and kobudo to both children and adults. Junior classes cater for ages 6 to 13, while a combined adult and cadet class welcomes students aged 13 and over. Your first lesson is free, and new members receive a free karate uniform when they join. The dojo also stays open through the school holidays.

Karate is a traditional Japanese martial art that generally combines striking techniques, forms (kata) and partner work, helping to build fitness, coordination and focus. Kobudo, often taught alongside it, typically introduces traditional Okinawan weapons, giving students another dimension to their training.
