Black Label Jiu Jitsu Academy

About

Based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, Black Label Jiu Jitsu Academy is a martial arts academy focused on jiu jitsu. The club's own website points to a strong love of training in the gi, the traditional uniform worn in Brazilian jiu jitsu.

Jiu jitsu is a grappling art built around positional control, takedowns and submissions, and gi training in particular tends to reward patience and technique, with grips on the jacket and trousers adding extra layers to learn. Academies like this generally suit people looking for a challenging way to get fit, solve problems on the mat and train alongside a regular group of partners.
