In Frome, Somerset, Harry's Hydrotherapy Pool is a charity-run facility set up to give children with special needs, and the wider local community, a place to exercise safely and without pain. Its first session took place in November 2012, and since then it has served pupils from Critchill School, baby swimming groups and people with special needs across the Frome area, supported throughout by a dedicated team of volunteers.

Hydrotherapy pools are generally kept warmer than a standard swimming pool, and the water helps support the body, which can make movement easier for people with limited mobility, pain or additional needs. Sessions in this kind of setting tend to be calm and gentle rather than focused on lane swimming.
