Deeside Gymnastics Academy
About
Founded in 1974, Deeside Gymnastics Academy is a long-established gymnastics club serving Chester and the surrounding Flintshire area. It offers classes for all ages and abilities, and in 2021 it opened a large purpose-built gymnastics facility. The club was named North Wales Gymnastics Club of the Year in 2017 and Welsh Gymnastics Club of the Year in 2021. Its recreational programme offers structured classes for children aged 3 to 16.
Gymnastics is often described as a foundation sport, helping young people build strength, balance, coordination and confidence that carry over into other activities. Recreational classes at gymnastics clubs generally focus on learning core skills in a fun, supervised setting, making them a good starting point for beginners.
