Based at the Harold Hill Community Centre in Romford, the Wakarishin Ju-Jitsu Association is a martial arts club serving East London and Essex, with further venues in Billericay, Springfield (Chelmsford) and Maldon. The club describes itself as a family built on respect, commitment and understanding, and it is affiliated with the BJJAGB national governing body. New students can book a free trial lesson.

Traditional ju-jitsu generally combines striking, joint locks, throws and practical self-defence. Training of this kind tends to build fitness, coordination and confidence, and regular classes are often a good way to make lasting friendships alongside learning a structured martial art.
