York School of Defence

About

Based in York, the York School of Defence teaches a wide range of martial arts and combative systems under one roof. Training covers historical fencing with the longsword, single handed sword and quarterstaff, alongside catch wrestling, classical pugilism, Bartitsu and Suffrajitsu, sambo, eskrima and practical self defence.

The club welcomes everyone and asks for no previous experience, with an emphasis on learning at your own pace and enjoying each session. A martial arts school like this is a good place to build fitness and coordination while picking up new skills in a friendly setting.
