University of Sheffield Music Players' Society
About
Based in Sheffield, the Music Players' Society (MPS) is a student music group bringing together players from both of the city's universities. It runs six bands across a range of styles, including big band, blues, clarinet ensemble, jazz and fusion, rock and sax group, with no auditions required and a place for every level of musician.
A society like this is a good way to keep playing alongside your studies, meet other musicians and take part in regular rehearsals and performances. Bands practise weekly during term time, with two student practice rooms available for jamming and independent practice.
