TKA (Takushoku Karate Association)

Based in Dunfermline, Fife, the Takushoku Karate Association (TKA) is a martial arts club teaching Shotokan karate. It is set up so that families can train together, with classes suited to different members learning the same techniques side by side. The club also takes part in competitions, from its own Scottish Championship through to international and national events.

Shotokan karate focuses on striking, stances and structured kata, and a club setting like this is a good way to build coordination, discipline and fitness. Coached classes typically progress students through the grading system towards black belt at a steady pace.
