About
Practising the Japanese sword art of Iaido, Edinburgh Roshukai is a martial arts dojo based in the city centre, meeting at Walpole Hall by St Mary's Cathedral on Palmerston Place. Sessions run on Monday and Thursday evenings, led by accredited instructors within an established lineage.
Iaido focuses on the controlled drawing and handling of the sword through precise, repeated forms. Newcomers to this kind of practice can generally expect a disciplined, technical approach, with progression through grades over time and guidance from more experienced members.
