About

Based in Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan, Barry BJJ is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club that has been running since 2019. Training takes place at the South Wales Martial Arts Academy on Broad Street, with a particular focus on No-Gi grappling alongside a weekly Gi class. The club is led by black belt coaches, is affiliated to the Craig Ewers team, and welcomes practitioners of every level, whatever their affiliation.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling art built around positional control, escapes and submissions, and it suits people looking for a sport that challenges both body and mind. Newcomers to a BJJ club can generally expect technique instruction followed by drilling and live rolling with training partners.
